Research On Risks Management Of Overseas General Contracting (EPC) Project

In recent years, more and more Chinese qualified engineering contracting enterprises have been involved in the international EPC (Engineering、 Procurement & Construction) project. Risk control in international contract project is particular important for the engineering contractor to implement and hand over the project. However, because of the policy of highly centralized central planned economy, the risk investigation in China started late after the Reform and Opening. As a result, most of the Chinese engineering contracting enterprises are lacking of systematic risk awareness and scientific risk concepts, which leading to the research on risk theory and practice, especially the applied technological achievements (relative utility software) is almost empty. Before the contract signing and during the contract implement, the contractor should pay special attention to the following contents:the risk clause, project implementation cost risk and the implementation process, loss caused by the designated currency devaluation and the risk of cost increasing that caused by the project delay, risk of quality and product cannot meet the guarantee indices specified by the contract, risk of penalty, political and natural disaster and other uncertainly risks. I think that we should enhance the risk identification and control of the oversea EPC project of sugar factory, and the most important is control the project implementation risk through scientific and normative general contracting management process. In this thesis, through the research method of referring to related document literature and cases happen at home and abroad, Ⅰ research on the risk management of oversea EPC project of sugar factory.
