The Research On The Strategy Of Design Of The Outdoor Landscape For The Elder’s Apartment

In the new century, our country experiences both the quick growth of economy and the significant change of population structure. As the proportion of the aged people increased, the project of constructing apartment for the elders has been taken as an issue of great importance and thus been obviously accelerated. However, problems still exist in the design of the apartment for the elders. The designer always pay more attention on the architecture, interior space and barrier free design, ignoring the design of the outdoor landscape. As a result, the aged people will feel restricted in social participant if they live in apartment without optimized outdoor landscape.Taking both the environmental psychology and general principle of landscape design as theoretical support, we will analyze the elderly physiological, psychological and behavioral characteristics and needs in this thesis,aiming at establishing the theoretical foundation for the landscape design of apartment for the aged. Based on the investigation of the outdoor landscape of representative apartment for aged people in Hangzhou and the information gathered from people living there, different apartment will be judged in four aspects including functionality partition. Summary will be made to point out the parts which need to be improved of the apartment for the elder’s. Taking ecological sustainability, humanistic care, safety, comfort and convenience of old people into consideration, we will figure out the objectives, principles of landscape design optimization, and further conclude the optimization strategy which can meet the demand of the elderly in this thesis, offering ideas and reference for research of the optimization of the outdoor leisure space environment of the apartment for aged people.Finally, this strategy will be applied on the project of reforming the outdoor landscape of Shanyuan apartment for aged people in Hangzhou to enhance the understanding of the theory of optimization of the outdoor landscape of the apartment for aged people.
