Exploratory Research On Community Health Centers For The Aged That Based On The Concept Of Medical And Health Nursing Services

The great challenges caused by the aging of population and the change of family structure has become an inevitable reality in our country, the nursing problem of the aged has caused extensive attention. The existing home-based nursing mode, institution nursing mode and community-relied nursing mode mainly focus on meeting the daily-life demands of the aged, while the needs of medical and health nursing services for the aged has not been effectively met yet. In this context, this thesis makes an exploratory research on community health centers for the aged from multiple perspectives in architecture field.Firstly, the author makes a brief introduction to the current context, namely, the aging population, the changing of traditional family structure, the inadequate health care resources, the will of aging in place, all these makes this research has practical implications. Secondly, the author makes clear definitions on related concepts, and makes an introduction and explanations to theories that related to the aged, which provides theoretical preparations for further studying. Thirdly, the author made specific analysis about the existing community health centers’function configurations, services and architectural details in Chengdu through field investigation. Fourth, on the basis of theoretical analysis and questionnaire survey, the author sums up three main demands of medical and health nursing services for the aged, which are Home Services, Short Term Living, Bed Caring. Fifth, the author comes up with three basic prototypes to satisfy that three main demands, at the same time by using hierarchical idea and modularization design theory, puts forward the proposal of compound function configurations, and briefly summarizes the design strategies of community health centers for the aged. Finally, the author makes outlook for urban community medical and health nursing services for the aged.
