With the rapid development of logistics industry in China, some large enterprises and distribution centers which are in the upper logistics chain apply mature automatic stereoscopic warehouse to the management, they can gain more profit by improving the efficiency of sorting. As the substratum of the basic logistics chain, the reserves or transit warehouse of the small and medium enterprises, which have occupied a large quantities of our country’s warehouse, mainly rely on traditional paper orders or single function of electronic tags to acquire information and guide manual sorting operations, and this warehouse management mode is very common. However, the warehouse management mode is lack of scheduling for widespread forklift operations, and has led to low operating efficiency and limited the development of the whole logistics chain.Based on the deficiency in small and medium enterprise warehouse management, this paper puts forward the electronic sorting system which is based on CAN bus and Radio Frequency technology. In order to improve efficiency of warehouse management, the system puts the main computer(PC) management platform as the control center, the storage position for warehousing goods are distributed by using warehousing storage position distribution strategy. And through the CAN bus technology, Radio Frequency Identification technology and ANT radio frequency technology combination mode, the system realizes the goods information acquisition and inventory temperature and humidity write-in by goods information collection nodes, achieves the scheduling of forklift operations by mobile sorting node. And the system also realizes guiding of manual operations by fixed sorting node, achieves the collection of the warehouse temperature and humidity by temperature and humidity detection node, and realizes the support of tracing information for goods warehousing environment. The main work in the paper are summarized as follows:(1) The scheme of electronic sorting system is designed. Firstly, according to the actually situation of the warehouse, the system architecture is designed by the distribution of each node, the choice of fieldbus types and topologies, the constitution and function for each node. Secondly, three core operation processes of storage management are analyzed. Through the compounding operation of each node, the core link functions in these processes are designed and can be realized in this system, the functions include inbound operation, outbound operation and check operation.(2) The hardware of the electronic sorting system is designed. The selection of core modules and interface circuit design for each node are completed based on the design of the structure and function of each node in system scheme, RLM300 and MSP430F149 are chosen as the UHF RFID module and microcontroller of goods information collection node, respectively. RF24L01B+ is chosen as the ANT RF module of mobile sorting node. In the fixed sorting node, the guide and operating of manual jobs is realized through the design for lights, buttons and digital tubes used in conjunction. SHT10 is selected as the temperature and humidity sensor of the temperature and humidity detection node, and collects the temperature and humidity of warehouse.(3) The software of the electronic sorting system is designed. Firstly, the mathematical model is established based on the design of the strategy for storage position distribution, the design of software also includes the selection of algorithm, the solution of storage position distribution problem, then the algorithm simulation result is analyzed and verified. Secondly, the operating modes and procedures of each node are designed based on the functions of system for inbound, outbound and check operations. Finally, the development of the system PC management platform based on the design of graphical user interface and the development of database.(4) The function of the electronic sorting system is tested. Firstly, the simulation result of storage positions allocation based on genetic algorithm transplanted into the management platform is tested, and the feasibility is validated. Secondly, the function of each node is tested in this system, and the test results are analyed. Finally, the function of system is tested by operating management platform, and the test results are analyed.The experimental results showed that electronic sorting system based on CAN bus and Radio Frequency technology can realize the reasonable distribution when goods warehousing operations, and achieve the functions of reading and writing goods information in batch and rapid, and thus complete scheduling and guidance to forklift and manual sorting operations. Meanwhile, the system can detect temperature and humidity inside the warehouse, which can meet the needs of small and medium enterprises warehouse management, and improve the efficiency of storage operations.
