A Research On The History, Form And Patterns Of The Vernacular Housing In Southern Sands Arean, Xiaoshan, Zhejiang

This research was based on the area of Southern Sands arean of Xiaoshan districtof Hangzhou. From the very monomer to the settlements level, we analyzed the formorders, organization patterns with the documentation of the urban and rural history. Thepurpose of this research was to make out some beneficial suggestions for the sustainabledevelopment of suburban rural places. Thisdissertaion was consisted of several parts asbelow.The indroduction is the theoraticalpreparation for the research. The second chapterto the fifth chapter is the mainly part of thedissertation, which summarized the patternsof the generative mechanism of the vernacular housing of the objective area. It iscomposed by five subsystems which consisted of as below: Samples, Form, Texture,Identity, and Context.The second chapter analyzed the context of the contemporary vernacular housingby the documentation of the geographical emergment, modern culture, land use policy,policy intervention and urban planning. The third chapter was mainly in data collectionand analysis, illustrated the sample and the premise of the target area. This chapter wasbased on the field survey which covered the contents, such as material environment,space types, function structures, decorative motivs and so on. The forth chapterconsisted of character organization and texture patterns. In the end of this chapter, anevolution generative mechanism was summarized based on the text under the genecontrolled. The fifth chapter, through the analysis of the identity of the external forcesof the contemporary Xiaoshan, established the connection between micro text andmacro context. The sixth chapter summarized the views on the full combination ofurbanization in the contemporary context and drew the conculutions of the research andsuggestions of the contemporary Chinese rural development.The context and texts ofthe target area was complicated, the contemporary Chinese rural land was under theglobal context and strength, this dissertation was not only to make a doucumentaion ofthe research texts, but to make out the path of interpretation.This research was based on the field survey of137samples and detailed interviewsof20samples in the target area. The significance of the research was to generate a logical connection between several elements as below: Samples, Form, Texture, Identity,and Context. The purpose of the research was to offer several suggestions for thecontemporary rural lands developments and drew measurement method and analysismethod for the similar research.
