The development of smart grid promote the intelligent of switching device. As theimportant intelligent switching devices which can prevent physical shock,electrical fire anddamage of electrical equipment effectively, intelligent residual current circuit breaker arewidely distributed in the grid and run in the special environment. So conducting theresearch on real-time remote monitoring and centralized management of the grid operationdata of the intelligent residual current circuit breaker is of great significance.Intelligent circuit breakers are brought in the network structure whose core is themonitoring center by the intelligent remote monitoring system. By monitoring theintelligent circuit breaker by monitoring center to realize the real-time monitoring of thelow voltage distribution network. The design and development process of the intelligentremote monitoring system need to solve a series of problems such as defining thecommunication mechanisms, designing the hardware modules, developing the softwaremodule and integrating the hardware and software. Firstly, this project analyze theadvantages and disadvantages of two communication modes namely wireless and wirelinecommunication. Based on that to select and determine the best communication mode andcommunication mechanism. Secondly, to overcome the shortcomings that the MonitoringPC cannot receive SMS, a hardware module is designed to send and receive SMS as well astransform the message between the SMS model and the message frame model. Finally, theintelligent remote monitoring system software is designed and developed based on theLabVIEW software platform which can be divided into four modules: display interfacemodule, data application module, data storage management module and communicationmodule according to the function. The intelligent remote monitoring system can achieve thefunctions that real-time displaying of the grid operating parameters, remote controlling ofthe protection parameters and closing and tripping of the intelligent circuit breaker and thestorage, classified management and query of the data.This subject solved the problems such as poor real-time communication and datamanagement of the original intelligent remote monitoring system. To choose the mostappropriate communication model for the different application environments, a variety ofcommunication modes are analyzed and compared. Taking all above points, featuredintelligent remote monitoring system is designed which has the advantages of friendlyinterface, convenient data management and reasonable communication. The monitoringsystem improved the intelligence level of the distribution network.
