Residual current circuit breaker(RCCB)is the protection equipment for detecting leakage current and is widely used to protect people's lives and property safety in low-voltage distribution network.With the increase of power consumption and the number of electrical equipment,the requirement for RCCB are also getting higher and higher,and intelligent control technology are more widely used.Firstly,the basic principle of the residual current detection is described and the existence of leakage current protection dead zone is confirmed by analysis and simulation,and the method of eliminating leakage current protection dead zone is proposed.Based on the existing methods of fault detection before circuit breaker closing,a method of detecting fault before closing the RCCB based on signal injection is proposed.The mathematical model of grounding fault is analyzed to summarize the law and failure criterion.Then,the prototype of RCCB is designed,which includes the hardware circuit design and software programming.Hardware setup includes residual current detection module,intelligent closing module,power supply module,a microprocessor control unit and a liquid crystal display module,software design includes data collection,logical operations,and information display and transmission.Finally,the designed RCCB is tested through experiments,and the content of test includes the power output voltage,the output waveform of detection circuit and circuit breaker action parameter characteristics.Test results show that the designed RCCB meet the desired requirements.
