Transport Suitability Evaluation Model Based On The Characteristics Of Cargo Value And Its Application

Transportation is one of the most important function of logistics, and an importantfoundation of a national and social development that is self-evident. At present, ourcountry has been basically building an integrated transport system construction, for thecarriage of goods by solution provides the possibility of multiple choices. Anything elsethe development of commodity economy of transport service put forward a higherrequest, timeliness, stability, and the transportation itself is faced with the problem ofexternal diseconomy. So traditional transportation cost is not as a measure of transportsuitability, needs to expand its connotation. In this paper the authors study the suitabilityof the transportation considering these factors.Firstly, the author summarizes literature about cargo transportation and determinesthe factors: internal and external cost, in-transit inventory costs, transportationinstability losses, taking the value of the goods feature quantify into account. In addition,these factors quantified constitute suitability evaluation function.Secondly, characteristic value of the goods is done a specific definition, based onthe analysis of the product life cycle; technology refresh cycle; replace the productdevelopment cycle and some other factors. Then time-sensitive goods are divided intocategories of goods, general cargo and special cargo, and give the value of the goodsdescriptive characteristic function.Last but one, the paper analyzes the internal and external cost components for eachmode of transport in detail, and gives the calculation model; followed by a model basedon Alford-Bangs constructed goods in-transit inventory costing model; then the loss ofstability for the transport factors do detailed analysis of the value of the goods isestablished based on the attenuation and time cost of goods penalty model, andultimately the formation of an integrated transport cost model, which lays thefoundation for suitability evaluation model.Finally, Comprehensively considering the characteristics of the goods value andthe integrated transport costs, it establishes the maximum evaluation of the suitabilityassessment model based on criteria for the maximum residual value of goods (or thevalue of the lowering of the minimum).What’s more, the paper choose the laptop andauto part transported between Chongqing and Europe as the objects of study. Calculated by the model, laptops transport choosing "Trans-Eurasia Rail" is the most appropriatechannel, Auto Parts select "Chongqing-Railway-Shenzhen-Marine-Rotterdam"channel, which is most appropriate. And the evaluation results are satisfied. Anythingmore, the characteristic of cargo value is a precondition for transport suitabilityevaluation and transport suitability, the important decision factor, makes there be acritical value between the various modes of transport.
