The rapid development of economic globalization makes trade between various countries in the world more and more closely connected.At the critical stage of commodity trade transition of China,a large quantity of container cargo of high value urgently needs to be delivered to the destination quickly and efficiently.Saving time of these goods creates massive time value,which puts forward new requirement for timeliness of transportation.The opening of New Eurasian Land Bridge provides China with a convenient route to deliver container cargo to Central Asia and Europe.Although the China-Europe train saves transportation time,thus creating a large amount of goods time value,the relatively higher transportation costs and external influence by transportation need to be considered.In this paper,container multi-modal transportation is studied based on the time value of goods,considering those factors described above,to find the optimal transportation scheme of various types of goods.The contents include:(1)Based on the study of time value and multi-modal transportation by scholars at home and abroad,this paper re-classifies goods of different value property,puts forward the concept of goods time value,and applies goods time value to the domain of container multi-modal transportation,considering the drawbacks of previous research.(2)The time value function of various types of goods is analyzed.Goods time value is broken down into three parts:the release of occupation of fund by goods,the decrease the additional costs caused by the delay of the transportation time,and avoiding the depreciation of goods,and the calculation method of goods time value is put forward.Then,the containerized transportation costs and time in multi-modal transportation are analyzed,with external influence by transportation discussed.(3)Based on previous models of container multi-modal transportation,an optimized container multi-modal transportation model based on goods time value is established,relating to the concept of goods time value and considering factors,including transportation costs,transit costs and external costs,comprehensively.Then,an ant colony algorithm is designed to solve the model.(4)With the case of container transportation with Suzhou as the departing point and Hamburg,Germany as the destination as an example,considering the operation of China-Europe train,the optimal scheme under different transportation time limits and different types of goods is found,with various influential factors analyzed.The case study shows that goods time value is one of the critical factors affecting scheme selection in container multi-modal transportation,and that the optimal transportation scheme varies for different types of goods.For goods of high value and high time sensitivity,schemes of China-Europe train with short transportation time are preferred,while for general goods,schemes of sea transportation with low transportation costs and long transportation time are more likely to be selected.Meanwhile,this paper further studies the influence of the specific factors of goods time value and transportation costs discount of China-Europe train on the selection of optimal scheme,and then analyses the external costs of transport.
