According to the latest nationwide population census survey in China, the child population has reached as much as 390 million. The children’s market occupies an important position in our daily consumption, so it is vital to study on children’s product design. While children have meals, they have to contact and use the tableware, it plays an important role for their healthy growth and to obtain strong ability of life. Before the age of three, children from being fed by their parents to eating himself, this process is to cultivate children’s body coordination ability and promote the development of brain. But eating difficult, feeding difficult problems have become the big problems facing Chinese parents. Because at this stage, children’s physiological and psychological characteristics are activity and playing, so that they can’t sit at the table to eat quietly. What’s more, domestic market doesn’t pay enough attention on this filed, the designed tableware for children both in shape and color is not really derived from the feelings of children and not follow their needs. These products can’t play a good role in arousing their interest to eat.Therefore, at the foundation of children’s emotion demand and characteristics of growth among aged 1-3 years old children, the research and design on children tableware is necessary. It not only has broad market prospects and development potential, but also can help parents attach great importance to the use of children’s tableware. This paper takes the emotional factors as the foundation, respectively from the children’s psychological and physiological needs to design; in the perspective of health and safety to find new environmental-friendly material that suitable for children tableware. The purposes of this one is to bring more interest and pleasure for them, the second is that the new material can play a role in green design. And propose methods to solve the problems by observing the children using tableware to find the tableware elements suitable for children’s emotional needs and to practice.In this article, through the intersection of comprehensive theory to study the application of emotion in children’s tableware. On the base that children’s needs and behavior, human engineering theory, emotional factors, generality and humanized design, and the application of new materials for the research. The author designs exclusive tableware through theoretical research and practical practice to meet their growth characters and needs. Thus, it will prompt children to be independent at the dinner table, and cultivate their good eating habit, aiming at enlightening and developing children’s intelligence both from suitability and practicality to help them grow up healthily and happily.
