In June2009, Brazil, Russia, India, China have established the traditional "BRIC" mechanism. In November2010, South Africa applied to join into the "BRIC" cooperation mechanism."BRIC" is officially renamed the "BRIC Countries (BRICS)", which makes the five countries a hot research object. After the U.S. financial crisis in2008, the emerging economies which represented by China, Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa show strong impact resistance and strong momentum of development."BRICS" foreign trade has played a pivotal role in the global economy development, and becomes an important channel for the emerging economies to participate in the international economic cycle. In such a context, by studying the five countries’ trade competitiveness and internal trade situation, we can provide a basis for the future research of development, and show specified directions for every country, finding their trade advantages, disadvantages and problems. This paper is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is the introduction part, which discusses the writing background, the purpose and significance of this paper, the existing literature and the innovation and lack of this article. The second chapter is about the theoretical basis of the trade development. The third, fourth and fifth chapter are the core of this paper, using a large amount of data analysis. The third chapter is the trade analysis and total size of the "BRICS". The fourth chapter is about the trade cooperation among the "BRICS". It analyzes the five countries’ products trade competition, using the trade competitive index. It is also about the trade cooperation among the "BRICS", which has detailed analysis of the "BRICS" trade and trade cooperation between each one and the "BRICS". Chapter five is about the policy recommendations, putting forward several suggestions of improving the "BRICS" trade competitiveness and strengthening the future cooperation, including the following ones:Exerting comparative advantages and training competitive advantages, accelerating industrial agglomeration and promoting industrial upgrading; increasing domestic demand and accelerating internal trade, reducing trade disputes and creating a good fair trade environment. Chapter six is the conclusion part. The conclusions of this paper are the following several points:firstly,"BRICS" trade status in the world is on the rise; secondly,"BRICS" countries have different trade competitiveness; thirdly, the "BRICS" has a large space for the future trade cooperation. The writing methods of this paper are mainly data analysis and comparative analysis. With theory supported, this article uses a large number of data, not only calculating the trade competitiveness but also describing trade cooperation between each country and the "BRICS". And the use of comparative analysis compares the trade competitiveness and cooperation among the "BRICS". Finally, this article puts forward some relevant policy recommendations according theory and practice. There are two innovations in this paper. The first one is that it makes the "BRICS" as a whole other than four countries or two of them. The second one is that it analyzes the trade development and products of each country with others in details. By comparing the national industrial competitiveness, it analyzes the features of internal trade among the "BRICS" in a deep way. With a large amount of data supporting, it calculate the competitive advantage index、trade relationships and trade products. The conclusion is more authentic and convincing.Inadequacy is that it only calculates TC index to describe the trade competitiveness. TC index does not always indicate that a product has a strong competitive advantage, such as when a country’s exports and imports of a product are both large, TC index will be small. In the future I will continue to research the trade relationship among the "BRICS" to solve more problems and provide a basis for future development.
