Application Study Of Lean Production In Electrolux Hangzhou Plant

With the mapping of green economy development strategy, continuous opening toWTO and overdue of protectionist policies, China as the global manufacturing center isfacing a market of heating competition. For many domestic manufacturing enterprises,failure to deliver on time, working capital occupied by huge inventory, unstable products’quality, low production efficiency, etc. are becoming the critical defects to obstructsustainable development. Local labor cost raising, demographic dividend vanishing,industry restructuring, as a foreign invested manufacturing site based in China, ElectroluxHangzhou has the same issues of the other Chinese plants. And the global economicrecession forces Electrolux Hangzhou to compete with other Electrolux factories all overthe world for limited orders.Lean production is an advanced manufacturing mode and management thinking, witheffectively guide the ongoing transformation of modern manufacturing enterprises, byreducing manufacturing costs and maximizing profits, enabling the organization full ofcompetitiveness. This thesis starts with the quick review to the historical background andthe development process of the lean production. The definition of the lean productionsystem and its main contents are discussed. The detailed steps in applying lean productionare also introduced here briefly.The thesis is to study the Lean Production mechanism and to deploy it to helpimproving the sustainability, process optimization and culture change in ElectroluxHangzhou factory. A Lean production deployment case is introduced to the readersdemonstrating the overall improvements on safety, quality, cost, delivery and peopledevelopment. Finally the thesis presents a brief summary of the implementation of leanproduction results, in the hope of providing some reference to those who may interest.
