Manufacturers are facing tremendous pressure pushing them to improve the operation mode continually in a rapidly changing market. Challenges, including the globalization of markets, domestic and international regulations promulgated, customers’expectations both on product quality and delivery, and even the mindset of employees, have prompted manufacturers constantly looking for methods to improve productivity, efficiency and management ability. For improvements of products, materials, quality, as well as each supply chain needs itself, manufacturers make investment in operation IT systems, such as ERP, MES and PCS, in order to obtain sustainable development in production.Because of the external environment and the internal needs of its own development, Y cosmetics manufacturing Co., Ltd. decide to carry out MES (Manufacturing Execution System) project to integrate the existing and mature information management systems. In the upper level, there are QAD system (ERP) and SRM (Supplier Relationship Management system), on the ground floor, there are EAM (Engineering Accessory Management system), LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), PCS (Process Control System), CAS (Conveyor Sorting System) and SFM (Shop Floor Monitor system).MES International Association defined11function modules of MES in1997. They are Resource Allocation and Status, Operation/Detail Scheduling, Dispatching Production Unit, Document Control, Data Collection, Labor Management, Quality Management, Process Management, Maintenance Management, Product Tracking&Genealogy and Performance Analysis. It defined MES as follow:MES can optimize and manage the whole production process from work order to finished stock through the information transferring.Y cosmetics manufacturing Co., Ltd.’s MES design covers above mentioned function modules and integrates all the operation departments. The most difficult problems in front of managers are how to integrate individual information management systems of different operation departments, how to optimize business process maximally and how to avoid making MES project to become useless. AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) is a useful solution to these problems.AHP is a decision-making method which always divides elements related to the decision-making into hierarchies of objectives, guidelines, options, and then makes qualitative and quantitative analysis of the decision-making.This paper starts with defining the concept of AHP, uses AHP to analyze the design, research and implementation process of Y cosmetics manufacturing Co., Ltd.’s MES project, supplemented by requirements analysis (expert) method, analyzes production status and the current on-line systems, and then analyzes the relationship between the relevant elements to establish analytic hierarchy process evaluation model of MES project, calculate the weighing coefficients of the elements of the model with real data, verify the benefits and process optimization of MES project. Finally, give examples and use fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, supplemented by questionnaire method, to verify the reliability and usability of the model. It can guide enterprises to practically operate and help enterprises to obtain the optimization of business processes. |
