The development strategy of modern enterprises has transferred from the " manufactured products" to "created products" and constantly developed the new products that fit the market needs and bring higher market position and more market share and high profit for the enterprises. Keeping long-term competitive advantages for the enterprises. The research and development play an very important role for the enterprise’s survival and development.In recent20years, Chinese enterprises got significant achievements in the market and product innovation. However our enterprise’s product research and development ability there exists a big gap compared with the enterprises of the developed countries. Chinese enterprises are generally in a variety dilemma of research and development. Moreover the research and development management fall behind which was the root cause of the difficulties in Chinese enterprises’research and development. In order to get out of the research and development dilemma and improve the core competitiveness, the fundamental way is to implement the innovations of the r&d management. It is necessary to introduce and implement the industry advanced and mature research and development management system.Since I have engaged in research and development in the elevator industry for more than10years, in this article I mainly introduce the development and research on elevator enterprises and the management level of development and research on elevator enterprises in China? Is there a more appropriate research and development management method applied to the elevator enterprises in China or a research and development management method that they can use as references?We introduce the basics of elevators and theories and related theories of processes, process management, projects and project management in the first part; then we focus on the content, features and application of Stage-Gate-System (SGS), PACE and IPD, and they are representatives of the advanced research and development management model. And then we expound the past and present condition of the elevator industry in China, and make surveys, analysis on the level of elevator corporate R&D Management in China;On the above basis, we make a detailed analysis of the contents,characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of the research and development process of Xizi TR; Then use the case of bidirectional speed-limiting elevator research and development to demonstrate the practical application and its effects of the research and development process of the Xizi TR.Finally, we make the main conclusions in this article. The research and development management of most enterprises in China is at level2, and some enterprises are still at level1, very few enterprises achieve are at Level3.There are only2-3enterprises can reach level4, while no enterprises reach level5.The research and development management of Xizi TR is at or above level3, and it is in the transition to the level4.And it is also the highest management standards of corporate R&D of the elevator components enterprises in China. The research and development process of Xizi TR is based on the PACE, and it set up a structured and parallel research and development process, and it belongs to the third generation of research and development management mode. The main features and advantages of the process are same with PACE, and the process is very operational, so the research and development process of Xizi TR can be seen as the best reference and learning material for the Chinese elevator enterprises.
