Since China’s reform and opening up, the economic construction has made greatachievements, and the the competition between the domestic enterprises become more andmore intense. At the same time, lean thinking and lean production has been widely used bythe domestic enterprises, with great achievements gained in the operation of production. Howto apply the theory of lean thinking and lean production better, how to combine it with theproduction and operation of the status of the domestic enterprises, and how to adapt theflexible and lean organization in the project operation, for improving the production way andmethod to improve economic performance, also for greatly eliminating waste, become along-term problem of the domestic enterprises. Only in this way, can we improve the corecompetitiveness of enterprises and the management level, realize the maximization ofenterprise profit, so that the enterprises can remain invincible in the fierce competition.Firstly, the thesis elaborates the survey of the research on the statement of lean theoryboth at home and abroad, by collecting all kinds of the lean literature. Secondly, with acombination of the empirical analysis and the normative analysis, The profiles of SKO and its5CU lens production are described, with an analysis and rational thinking of the comparisonof its actual situation, so that they can complement each other, and its existing problem of thelean management are pointed out at the same time. Thirdly, specialized research is madethroughout the whole lean improvement of the5CU lens production through the method ofthe case study and the comparative method, and the key points of the improvement are madedetail analysis.Fourthly, it is put forward that the the lean solution for5CU lens productionproblems, and the lean improvement is made by value stream mapping method and the otherlean tools, and the results are compared and analysed. Finally, the5CU lean productionimprovement case is summarized the conclusion, and it is obtained that the application of thelean thinking and lean production should be focus on combining with the actual situation ofenterprise flexibly, gradually exploring the road of the lean improvement according with thecharacteristics of the enterprise’s own to improve the production management level and thecore competitiveness continuously.
