With the rapid changing and increasing competition of market economyenvironment, the five-star hotel industry is no longer profiteering. International hotelgiants came to break into Chinese market and the rise of domestic five-star hotelbrand, the high star hotel market competition has become increasingly heated. Moreand more hotels realize that who wants to win in the combat, who must have a groupof employees with high engagement. Therefore, how to improve employees’engagement and how to motivate employees has become one of the focus points ofhotel managers.By using sociology, psychology, statistics and other disciplines of researchmethods, this thesis can be integrated. With my work experience at HR departmentin five-star hotel, I try to illustrate the employee’s engagement elements and itsinfluencing factors. Help hotel managers and who wants to improve employees’engagement to know how targeted to improve their engagement.This thesis research mainly includes four parts:(1) Building the thesistheoretical model;(2) Through investigation and data analysis, constructing thefive-star hotel employees’ engagement structure, and refining three dimensions;(3)Investigating the selection of participants to carry on the empirical investigation;(4)Doing In-depth analysis the influence of factors. This part is the emphasis in thisthesis, the writer studies the present domestic five-star hotel staff job characteristics,demand characteristics and motivating factors, makes them the basis to studyfive-star hotels employees’ engagement influence factors. The specific method is asfollows:(1) Literature study method and Specifications definition method, bycarefully study at home and abroad relevant literature about employees’ engagement,and make a summary, learnt from former relevant definition of engagement, andcombining the actual situation, adopt the method of specification definition toprecisely define employees’ engagement;(2) Survey method, there are thequestionnaire survey, interviews, discussion and consultation with experts, choosing five-star hotel to do the empirical research;(4) Data analysis, correlation analysiswas carried out on the collected data(factor analysis, variance analysis,etc.) to usethe most reasonable, the reliability and validity of data to support this argument;(5)Case analysis, writer visited several five-star hotels, and put these hotels as testobject to conduct empirical research for their employees.The findings indicated:(1) Five-star hotel employees’ engagement elements canbe divided into three parts—Task, Character and Culture engagement;(2)The top tenengagement influence factors are Degree of income matches contribution, Degree ofincome equality, Degree of the hotel atmosphere comfort and so on.
