Study On The Agricultural Technology Extension Pattern Of University And College Relying Upon The Experimental Station

The Fifth Plenary Session of the Sixteenth Central Committee proposed to build newsocialist countryside, taking the increase of rural productivity and living standard as itsprimary task, taking the development of modern agriculture as its core path. Agriculturetechnology extension system, the base of modern agriculture development, is a tie ofconverting agricultural scientific achievements into productive force to promote a blend ofagricultural technology and production factors, which will change the pattern of ruralagriculture growth, production and lifestyle structure, promote the enhancement ofagricultural efficiency, famer’s income and capabilities, and finally fully realize the aim ofnew countryside construction. Agriculture technology extension system at present was formedin the early planned economic system, which can’t adapt to the present stage of the agricultureand rural economy development in the socialist economic marketization and globalization.The research question is to build a new mode of agriculture science and technology extension.After years’ exploration and practice, Northwest Agriculture&Forestry University, as themost important agricultural universities in northwest China, has formed an innovativeagricultural technology expansion pattern which will be suitable for our national condition.Connotation of this pattern is: relying upon the universities and colleges, takingdemonstration stations serving the leading industry as the core, taking the basic agriculturaltechnology staff as the backbone, has the purpose of promoting agricultural efficiency andfamer income, providing science and technology services of whole industrial chain foragricultural modernization,which is called “Xinong pattern”.Xinong kiwi experiment stationis a typical example of this pattern.The paper first discussed the research background, significance, purpose, framework andmethods, foreign research tendency of agriculture technology extension and possibleinnovations of the paper. Then describe the current situation of the agriculture extension athome and aboard. Then introduced the connotation, basic structure, feature of the pattern of“Xinong pattern” and discussed the building pattern, operating mechanism, extension ways ofXinong Kiwi experimental station. And surveys the “Project on technology demonstration andplebification of Mei country’s industrialization” to analysis the contribution of experimental station to Mei country’s Kiwi industry. The result shows that the acreage, yield, fruit qualityand farmers income has been steadily improved in Mei Country, the structure of the varietieshave been rationalized, the ecological benefits of planting kiwi is obvious, the brand had beenhighlight and the market is beginning to take shape. Then by summarizing the building pattern,operating mechanism, extension ways, and extension benefit, indicated the pattern is lack oflegal support, the promotion funding is shortage, the overall quality of farmers are low,theorganization and management is confusion, the quality of extension workers is not high,didn’t established a sophisticated training system, the staff poorly equipped and infrastructureinadequate exchanges and cooperation and other issues domestic and foreign.At last, bysummarizing the domestic and foreign extension pattern, learning from its experience andavoiding its shortage, we think we should establish and improve relevant laws and regulations,innovative investment and financing system, improve the overall quality of farmers,reformorganization management system, improve the quality of extension workers, establish acomprehensive training system, strengthen cooperation and exchanges with domestic andforeign to improve the pattern. Only in this way can we do more contribution to ouragriculture.
