Pro-poor Tourism Research In The Dabie Mountain Area Of Hubei Province

In the context of the tourism industry has gradually become an important pillar industry of the economic development of countries, taking tourism as a tool to strengthen contacts and cooperation in the region, integrate poverty-stricken areas of tourism resources, form competitive travel mode to eliminate poverty and promote poor residents out of poverty permanently, has become a new trend for developing countries to be out of poverty. Domestic scholars have done depth studies about strategy, mode and effect of pro-poor tourism while who are still lack of research to enhance the capacity for sustainable development of the poor areas and poor self-development.The article combines qualitative summary quantitative analysis about the role of the tourism development in the economic development of the Dabie Mountain Area of Hubei Province. Tourism in Hubei Dabie Mountain plays a very important role in national economic development of the region, which has bought both direct benefits to the regional tourism revenue, but also indirectly promote the development of associated industries. Researches show that:the residents in cities with higher level of tourism development get more income and also develop faster. at the same time demonstrated the strong multiplier effect of tourism in the economic development of the region. Except for economic benefits, pro-poor tourism has also improve the level of the region’s social development and ecological civilization construction greatly. From perspectives of ideas, education and moral qualities of poor residents, it summed up the positive role in the development of the tourism industry. At the same time, the development of tourism not only promotes the awakening of residents’ awareness of environmental protection, but also provides the material basis for improving the ecological environment and improve the living environment of the poor residents.But problems are also highlighted:less competition and more cooperation, lack of effective integration of resources, lack of complete tourism industry chain, inadequate infrastructure especially lack of poor residents’participating in tourism. This is related to poor residents’ sense of participation and ability to participate, but the fundamental or due to poor residents to participate in the construction of the tourism system lags behind the tourism industry development.
