Lean Six Sigma(LSS) is an advanced method of management nowadays andLSS is the standard accepted by all. Lean Six Sigma(LSS) combines lean productionand six sigma. These two theories are mutually complementary and the aim for that isdelivery excellent management result and overcome shortages caused byimplementing Six Sigma or Lean Production independently. Despite LSS is based onthe production management, but their principles and toolkit are widely applied inmany areas. Increasingly LSS management methodology is now required course formanagers. But LSS practices are less common in warehouse operations. This thesisaims to how to save the cost and enhance the efficiency in warehouse operationsthrough deep analysis and discussion.The thesis includes6chapters, Chapter1is introduction, in which the researchbackground is introduced and problem is proposed. In addition, it is explained that theLean Six Sigma is the most effective management method. Chapter2is theoreticalreview, in which the basic concepts of lean management and Six Sigma areintroduced. Meanwhile, the combined Lean Six Sigma management theories are alsosummarized. Chapter3to Chapter5is case analysis. The method and specific projectimplementation process of Lean Six Sigma is studied in detail based on the exampleof D Company. Chapter3simply introduces the background and vision of DCompany and First Choice strategic arrangement of D Company. The necessity andmeaning of Lean Six Sigma in D company are discussed in detail. Six main stages ofLean Six Sigma in D Company are introduced in chapter4, preparation stage, stage ofverifying improving regions, stage of launching improving proposals, stage ofevaluating improving proposals, stage of implementing improving proposals, andstage of controlling, reviewing, and sharing experience. Meanwhile, main work andmanagement methods of each stage are discussed profoundly. Chapter5discusses thepractical implantation process of DMAIC by Lean Six Sigma based on the example of“Improving Outbound Process” in D Company. Through the case, common tools andimproving methods of Lean Six Sigma are introduced, and the improving effect ofLean House is introduced. Chapter6is the summary, Outlook on the development ofwarehouse operation based on Lean Six Sigma is given.
