Family business is a kind of indispensable organization form in modern society, and it makea nonnegligible contribution to each country’s economic development. Related data show thatfamily business accounts for40%in all the world’s top500enterprises. Compared to othercountries, American enterprise system is relatively mature and perfect, but the study found thatmore than90%are family business in American. Actually in our country, family is also animportant force that cannot be ignored. The earliest form of enterprise is family business inChina. Even after the reform and opening up, not only did family business disappear, but alsodeveloped more and more rapidly. There is no denying that to a certain extent the constantemerge of family business driven the development of our national economy.At present, many family business in China are at a relatively special stage—thehanding-over stage that family enterprise will gradually from the hands of the founder to thesecond generation. How to realize the smooth handover of the family business and make theenterprise eternal youth are urgent problems in family business. Based on the study of familybusiness performance and successor training, this article puts forward four aspects of ability andquality the successor should have, including the coordinated ability, innovation ability, adventureability and the sense of social responsibility, and then divide the family business performanceinto two dimensions—family performance dimension and enterprise performance to study. Onthat basis, explore the relationships between successor ability and quality with family businessperformance and with enterprise performance. The research object is the related personnel that isparticipated in successor training, a total of250questionnaires issued,210are recycled, of which205are effective, effective rate was82%. This paper uses SPSS software and structure equationto analyze the questionnaire that is recycled. The analysis shows that coordinated ability,innovation ability, adventure ability and the sense of social responsibility affect family businessperformance and enterprise performance positively; training objects has no significant influenceon the relationships between successor ability and quality and family business performance.Aiming at the problems in successor cultivating in family business, this paper puts forward somesuggestions, in order to make family business smooth the handing-over successfully and providereference for achieving sustainable development.
