Research And Implementation Of The Virtual Campus Walkthrough Based On Unity3D

Virtual campus is a virtual environment with a sense of immersion and interactivity, which is constructed by the simulation based on the real campus landscape. The virtual campus walkthrough system can not only provide a new way of campus walkthrough for the majority of teachers and students and tourists, but also provide a new way of teaching, management and planning for schools, which gets rid of the traditional monotonous and noninteractive media walkthrough mode.This thesis proposes a new solution, namely using a game engine called Unity as the development platform with good rendering effect, strong interaction, convenient operation, full functions and short development cycle, developing the virtual campus walkthrough system combined with other modeling tools, aiming at solving some problems such as poor simulation effect, lack of interaction, long development cyle on domestic3D virtual campus.Taking the constrution of Yunnan University virtual campus for example, the thesis’s main work can be concluded in the following several points:(1) Summarize the main basic technology in Unity simulating and walkthrough;(2) Design the virtual campus walkthrough system, mainly including layered design of virtual campus scene, functional module division and interaction design of the whole system, which constructs a flexible and expansible whole system frame;(3) According to the thesis, the key technology of virtual campus scene modeling are studied and implemented, including unit conversion between3ds Max and Unity, and rapid3D modeling of the layered scene of campus using3ds Max and Google Earth image;(4) Using Unity’s real time interactive technology, some important designed modules that is the third person’s walkthrough control, camera control, building’s attribute data query, navigation map, automatic routing and so on;(5) Put forward a set of integrated scheme about rapid construction of virtual campus walkthrough system.
