The replacement of electronic products is getting faster and faster with the development of science and technology. The way to test the properties of product packaging by using finite element method (FEM) has attracted more and more attentions for the purpose to shorten the production cycle, seize the opportunities in the market. The FEM is used to simulate the drop environment of flat-panel TV package in this paper. The relatively accurate3D geometric model of flat-panel TV package is built by SolidWorks software with the model is simplified appropriately. Ansys Workbench is adopted to exert the pretreatments for drop simulation of package, the model simplification, material arrangement, meshing, contact and other issues that need attentions are illustrated. Applying the LS-DYNA Solver to calculate and then the results of drop simulation will be post-treated by using the software LS-PREPOST. Physical parameters of flat-panel TV package such as acceleration, strain and stress during the dropping process are obtained, besides, the protective effect on contents of cushioning packaging is analyzed.The finite element method software Ansys Workbench is used to analyze the vibration performance of flat-panel TV package. Firstly, the first six natural frequencies and mode shapes of the product package are extracted by using modal analysis module, and then, the steady-state response of the package to withstand a range of frequency cyclic load is analyzed through the harmonic response analysis module, at last, the response of the product is analyzed by simulating the flat-panel TV package suffered vibration when transported by automobile using a random vibration analysis module.In the present paper, compression properties of flat-panel TV package in two different directions with stack by3and11layers is simulated to analysis transport packaging performance of flat-panel better. The parameters for each part of flat-panel TV package such as displacement, stress&strain distributions are obtained. The compressive performances of cushion packaging are analyzed and the potential problems of cushion packaging structure are pointed out.
