When the advancement of science and technology brings convenience to humanbeings, it also greatly enhances the burst rate of crises endangering human beings’normal life. In recent years, broadcast media plays a more and more important role inhandling many major crises, thus, it is particularly important to research its effect incrisis communication.Based on the understanding and study of crisis, this paper defines its implicationand characteristics, so as to introduce the research on the process of crisiscommunication. Through comparing the function of broadcast media and other mediain crisis communication, it reflects the unique advantages of broadcast media differentfrom those of other media.After analyzing various possible factors that influence the effect of broadcastmedia in crisis communication, the author makes some targeted strategies andproposals, in the hope of promoting the development of broadcast media whileoptimizing the effect of broadcast media in crisis communication so that it will play agreater role in handling possible large-scale crises in the future.
