With the development of computer technology and network technology, the traditionalnewspaper industry received a huge impact. The new media more and more attracted readers,newspaper circulation and advertising revenue declined, some newspapers even forced tobankruptcy and possible closure. Face to the problems, traditional newspaper industry went toexplore digital transformation.After more than ten years of development, the digitization of newspaper industry in ourcountry has made some progress, the concept of “all media” has gradually entered our life. Butcompared with foreign newspapers industry we also have larger gap, the transformation ofdevelopment there are still many problems to be solved in the process. This paper mainlyanalyzes the present situation and strategies of digital transformation in our country:First, the development history and the current situation of the newspaper digitization weresummarized. And then analyzed the reason of the loss of newspaper readers both at home andabroad as well as the development difficulties of the traditional newspaper industry under theimpact of new media. After that, the digitization of the traditional newspapers is the inevitablechoice for developing industry under the digital background was put forward. And thedigitization also have to adapt into the conscious action in recent years.Second, this paper analyzes the general practices of the digitization including the types andcharacteristics both at home and abroad. And then summarized the experiences of the digitization,including the system and mechanism, content product, profit model, database construction and soon.Third, on the basis of the above-mentioned problems some strategies were put forward. Thesystem and mechanism of traditional newspaper industry must to be make in-depth reform. Andthe barriers of the medias should to be break, and then information between all kinds medias toachieve Shared. On the other hand, produce personalized, characteristical and high-quality newsproduct to promote the core competence of the newspaper. Once again, the the industrial chainshould be extended, new profit models, brand communication strategy and database also shouldbe explored, At last, Achieve the above goals, still need to improve the talent training mechanism,cultivating high-quality “all media” talents.
