From a theoretical perspective of "city communication" research city is media, the paper takes isomorphism and juxtaposition of city communication as theoretical basis. First of all, the paper teases and clarifies the implications of communication, argues the media properties of city space, and then regards city space of Kunming as the main research object. After making a simple carding of the evolution of city space of Kunming, the author has chosen three spatial levels of Kunming to unscramble its urban city:(1) The historical block which inscribes development course of Kunming-Kunming Old Street, analyzing it as the inter-generational transmission media;(2)"Three Lanes" as its landmark, explaining its communication function;(3) Lake Cui which is in Kunming cultural core and a city card of Kunming, as the concentration and carrier of historical and cultural name, it focused on the analysis of historical culture feature of surrounding historical celebrities and former residence and Nagoya, and the resulting nostalgic consumption. It comes to the conclusion:city physical space is media, streets, buildings and other space are the micro media of construction and representation city. They have fully displayed the characteristics of transmission in the transmission of information, spread of public communication, and construction of cultural meaning; City is the spatial expression of social relations, as well as the symbol system of values and social consciousness, whose change and reconstruction are at the mercy of political, economic, and social ideology.
