In the present, with the development of computer technology, software is updated very frequently, and requires better quality. As the basic method to insure the quality, software testing has always been of concerned. However, the current testing methods for automated testing are rarely for embedded system, and their efficiency and stability can’t meet the requirement of automated testing. Therefore, it is necessary to design an automated testing framework for embedded system.On the basis of depth analysis in this paper, we designed and implemented the automated testing framework for embedded system. Firstly, the requirement analysis of the automated testing framework was achieved, and functionality and non-functionality were described. Then, an overall architecture was designed, a technical architecture was designed based on points tier design patterns and a functional architecture of the system was designed based on testing business. And the database table structures, testing script, testing case, testing set, testing build, testing resource and other specific modules was detailed designed. Finally, according to the system design requirements, the framework was implemented, and then it showed the effect diagram and main code of automated testing framework, at the same time the basic function test and stress test of the framework was completed.The automated testing framework for embedded system could manage testing script, testing case, testing set, testing build and testing resource, perform test automatically and provide result based on user’s demand. And it has reserved extended interface to reply the update of the software and provided packaged API for test engineer. Also the detailed help documents are provided for system usage, it is important for embedded system testing.
