Wireless radio frequency chip is a kind of SoC solution integrated withmicrocontroller and transceiver,which is mainly targeted for industrialcontrolling,intelligent household and telemedicine.Along with the rapid development ofmicrocontroller and wireless communication technology,many new RF chips has beenreleased frequently.Since2006,Freescale Embedded R&D Center of Soochow Universityhas taken a deep research into several kinds of ZigBee RF chips which Freescale releasedand developed several wireless nodes using the MC1321X series chips as the core. Thisprovides the research and design of this paper with a solid foundation.In2013,FreescaleSemiconductor Inc. officially released a high performance KW01RF chip,which is thefirstly integrated microcontroller based on the ARM Cortex-M0+processer with theSub-1G transceiver.In the same year,entrusted by Freescale, Freescale Embedded R&DCenter of Soochow University took the applied basic research of KW01in order to servethe industry.This paper is finished on the basis of the work.Taking KW01as a research object,on the basis of the experiences of designing anddeveloping the embedded system from the labatory in many years and guided by thetheoretical framework of software component,this paper puts forward a kind of hardwareand software wireless node designing solution named SD-WSN.The main task will be asfollows:(i) Guided by the idea of hardware and software embedded components,this paperpresents a design and implementation of SD-WSN wireless node platform,includinghardware schematic diagrams,PCB diagrams,device driver software and system testingmethods and so on.Among all these works,the realization of RF front-end circuit is thedifficult point of the paper while it is also the innovative points of this study.(ii)According to RF characteristic of KW01chip,the paper presents a method,whichimproves and extends the function of the SMAC stack appropriately and transplanted itinto the platform of SD-WSN wireless node.(iii)Taking the SD-WSN wireless node as the hardware platform and on the premise of the implementation of Bootloader and defining proper data frame structure,a wirelessreprogramming mechanism called WSN_OTAR is proposed in this paper.And it isreliable,low-overhead,of low storage cost and low latency.(iv)The correctness and practical application of this paper is verified in building ankind of lamp controlling system which is variable power by using the SD-WSN.The tests and preliminary practice show that the features which was realized bySD-WSN wireless node,such as many peripheral interfaces,reliable data sending andreceiving,stable system,remote codes updating in real time,flexible device driver interface,provides a wireless RF applied solution.It has many advantages,including highperformance,software updating timely and easy to develop at second time for applicationfields of WSN.
