Wireless sensor network has the characteristic of flexible. It makes network widely used in the military, economic, social, and mainly used for monitoring, collecting and transmitting information.With the rapid development of technology, the application and business range of the wireless sensor network are expanding. User demand for network appear increasingly detailed and the trend of diversification. This change requires networks according to different type business characteristics to provide the guarantee mechanism transmission.Network protocol is the rule and standard for data exchange in networks. It plays an important role on safeguarding the performance of the networks. At present, the wireless sensor networks’ protocol research focus on network protocol and data link layer protocol. Among them, the data link layer medium access control (MAC) protocol is the foundation of the underlying protocols, for the use of distribution channel, to ensure the performance of wireless sensor networks security has very important significance. This article focuses on how to improve MAC protocols to guarantee business transmission.In this paper, I Introduced the architecture and applications of wireless sensor network, analysis the basic technical features of the MAC protocol, focusing on the protocol:S-MAC. I described the SMAC protocol of energy saving mechanism and key principles in detail.Deal with both wireless sensor business trend of diversification and S-MAC protocol lack of demand, SD-SMAC agreement has been proposed. New protocol added the new principle to the S-MAC protocol. It included of the business principle of distinction, the probability of channel access priority mechanism, channel requests service differentiation mechanisms constitute secure transport mechanism. The SD-SMAC protocol ensured the networks context of the high-quality transmission on diverse business. At the same time to establish the analytical model by formula deduction to verify the correctness of the theory. Finally, SD-SMAC protocol has simulated by NS2to verify the performance of the protocol indeed has been improved.
