AGV system is currently a hot research topic in factory automation, more andmore medium-sized enterprises begin to purchase and deploy AGV system for using,tries to use automatic freight robot to replace manual work, saving the cost of humanresources, progressively realize the industrial automation. This paper firstly researchand analysis the basic principle of AGV systems, and then propose a new AGV systemdesign, analyze some of the key technologies of the AGV system from aspects ofhardware system architecture and software design, and then make improvements andachieve independent design. This project complete the software and hardwaredevelopment of the AGV system for a specific plastic injection workshop, implementthe CAD map import function for AGV path customization and remote call funcitonfrom specific stations.This system design is universal, can be easily migrated to otherworkshops.The AGV system in this paper uses magnetic track guiding method. This kind ofguiding method is mature and stable, and has an overwhelming advantage in terms ofcost, implementability, stability, and so, and is currently the most used AGV systemguiding method in our coutry. The design of this paper innovatively uses a TI’shigh-performance Cortex A8processor AM3359, the processor is a clearly positionedindustrial control MCU, with a rich amount of industrial bus interfaces and powerfulprocessing performance to meet the needs of high-end users. Based on actual project,this paper does a reaserch and analysis on sensor technology, control circuits, softwarearchitecture and algorithms on AGV systems, and gives a typical AGV system designsolution, the feasibility of the system solution is experimented and tested in this paper.The AGV system consists of three major components, the control center, vehiclecontrollor and station remote caller. A ZigBee wireless communication network isestablished between the three components. The control center can receive remote callfrom call stations, the state information of the vehicle, it is also able to send controlcommands to the vehicle, and send responses to remote station callers.
