In recent years, the remote video monitoring has been more and more widelyused in power system, telecommunication equipment rooms, factories, the urbantraffic, water conservancy system, the security of community, and other fields. Withthe continuous development of global information technology, the portability of theremote video monitoring system is more and more important, users tend to watch thereal-time video images of the remote monitoring area anytime and anywhere. Inrecent years, since the Android system show the development trend of the blowout interminal area, the mobile video surveillance system which based on the Androidplatform has great application prospect. Because of the transmission of video signalsasks for a lot in the requirement of network bandwidth, the traditional transmissionmethod which applied to the wired network can not meet the requirements of the lowbandwidth of wireless network. Thus, a design of video transmission method whichruns on the narrowband network becomes one of the problems which need to besolved in the area of video monitor. This paper researched the video signal acquisition,video data compression, wireless network transmission of video data of remote videomonitoring system. Moreover, this document presented research for parsing andplaying video data in Android platform.The main work of this paper includes these following aspects:1. We collected the video signals which filmed by a USB camera and played bypersonal computer in real time. We compressed the video signal, made video signalbinary image format which is easily to be transmitted by internet, made thecompression effect to meet the requirement of image transmission on narrow band.2. We used RTP, real-time transport protocol under the UDP communicationprotocol, sent the video data via wireless network, realized the function of video datatransmission via wireless network, and analyzed the framing problem of video datapackets, and made the client Android mobile phone which can be carried on thereal-time video surveillance to the remote monitoring terminal.3. We completed the video streaming analytic function of client Android mobilephone, made the client Android mobile phone can receive, parse and play the videodata from the USB camera and network camera, solved the problem of existing videosurveillance technology like poor portability, surveillance images, smoothness and soon.4. By applying the network camera API control protocol, we wrote softwareprogram on the client Android mobile phone to complete controlling motion ofwebcam pan remotely, achieved the effect of adjusting the webcam viewing angleremotely. 5. This paper conducted a test of the main system functions. The results showedthat the communication protocol was efficient and reliable, and had good stability.What’s more, we completed the installation of the system software, debugged thesystem in realistic environment. Results showed that the overall performance of thesystem had achieved the desired requirements.
