With the deepening of the power system reform and the continuous development ofmodern management tools, the use of advanced network communications technology forremote automatic meter reading, the power management sector as well as residents of anactual demand of households. This remote automatic meter reading system for the design,introduced the front-end acquisition subsystem and communication subsystem of thecomposition and work of Yuan Li, specifically addressing the system’s PC managementsoftware development techniques and software analysis, design and implementation process.Software development using Microsoft’s Visual Basic6.0as a development tool, databasedesign using Microsoft’s SQL Server2000database, and use of ADO technology to achieveaccess to the database, using MSComm control achieved with lower computer datacommunications. Software design follows the modular design, starting from the system needsto start, the main design of the system management, household management, metermanagement, billing management, equipment management and maintenance of severalmodules, achieving a remote meter reading data, meter reading equipment, remotemonitoring, meter reading, intelligent data processing and a variety of report output.Throughout the design process, the security in software design, database design andcentralized monitoring function gives a new way of thinking. Finally, this paper summarizesthe work done and was expected.
