Research And Development Of College Students’ Psychological Charecteristic Regional Analysis System Based On GIS

At present, the educational administration department attaches great importance to college students’mental health education work. As a result, how to apply modern information technology to the classified analysis of college students’psychological characteristics to find out the characteristics of college students’psychological development and provide tailor-made psychological counseling for college students has become the important components of college mental health education work. Based on psychological assessment, psychological analysis, regional distribution of geographical culture, and the related statistical data, the thesis applies GIS technology to the analysis and research of the regional distribution of college students’psychological characteristics, conducting the statistical analysis of college students’psychological assessment data and the research on the regional distribution law, displaying intuitively the regional distribution of college students’psychological characteristics. All this is conducive to the finding of the related information, to the provision of tailor-made mental health education, and to the effective application of psychological assessment.The main research contents and achievements of this thesis are as follows:1Analyzed are the college students’psychological assessment method and the key problems in the application of GIS technology. Elaborated on are the composition of Chinese College Students’Personality Scale, the meaning of its dimensions, and its scoring method. Studied is the key technology of GIS related to the development of the present system. Discussed are the spatial auto-correlational analysis theory and its actualization in ArcGIS.2The overall design and function design of the system is conducted on the basis of the system requirement analysis. And discussed in detail (are) the design idea and implementation method of the GIS-based Regional Distribution Analysis System for College Students’Psychological Characteristics. The component GIS Technology (ArcGIS Engine), spatial data engine technology (ArcSDE), relational database (SQLserver2005) technology, and VC#programming language are used to develop the GIS-based Regional Distribution Analysis System for College Students’Psychological Characteristics. The system’s main function modules include:the psychological assessment module, the psychological measurement module, and the statistics analysis module. 3The system is used for the analysis of the college students’ psychological assessment data of a university collected during the period from2007to2013, and its main functions are thus verified and demonstrated. Analyzed in detail is the urban-rural disparity of the6dimensions of "active, outgoing, conducting oneself in society, rigorous, sentimental, and easy-going" in the Chinese College Students’Personality Scale. In addition, the thesis has conducted analyses of the distributions of the mean values of all6dimensions, demonstrated the distributional trend of the two dimensions of "active" and "outgoing", conducted a spatial autocorrelation analysis, and drawn some meaningful conclusions.Finally, the thesis sums up the knowledge and experience acquired in the development process of the GIS-based Regional Distribution Analysis System for College Students’ Psychological Characteristics and forecasts the application prospects of GIS to the analysis of the psychological characteristics data.
