Film and Radio was founded by the Sun Mingjing at1942in Chengdu, which was the first comprehensive and professional academic magazine created by university in the history of Chinese media. At the age of republican period, Film and Radio was as a theoretical research base of domestic educational films and study center of films enthusiast, for whom to share their education experience.As a academic journals, because of the principle of putting academic building as the most important rules.Film and Radio experienced two different stages in Chengdu and Nanjing, which continually issued for seven years,63period in total. This paper taken its publish reason, developmental track and its editor as clues, which help us completely grasp its historical value from a comprehensive version.As a comprehensive media journals,its content covered audio-visual education,film,radio and television,science and technology etc.Through clarifying its research contribution in film and broadcast television subject,restore its true face in the republican period, it help us summary its characteristics in mass media,and help us deeply understand the development and research situation of mass media in republican period,therefore,we can objectively evaluate its contribution in the history of the mass media.In its seven years of publishing, Film and Radio insisted on publishing purpose from start to end.As a academical magazine, which accelerate the development of subject and social,therefore its rich experience in publishing which can be good example for our modern academic journal. Meanwhile, its contribution in the study of Republic film,broadcast and television enrich the history of Media research,from some extend, which also has cultural value.
