The construction industry is the important material production sectors of the national economy. It is closely related to the development of the whole national economy and improving people’s lives.Architectural books should play its role in promoting the development of the construction industry as a media with the dissemination of construction knowledge and construction information.In this paper, since1978the architectural books and its development as the research object, carries on the comprehensive careful reorganization and the elaboration to present social background, publishing books on architecture and its existing problems, and provides the practical and feasible measures and suggestions to the problems as the object, for the construction of books out of the doldrums trend to provide a kind of reference and inspiration.This thesis is divided into five parts. The first part is introduction which producing basis and significance of topics, research and innovation, research ideas and methods, and the main contents of the thesis structure. The second part introduces the definition and classification of architectural books, the development process of China’s architectural books in the new period. Thematic analysis of the third part of our new era of architectural books market status, types of books, the reader segmentation and book publishing has huge development potential, At the same time, pointed out the existing topic facing predicament, homogeneous books variety structure imbalance, marketing strategy is relatively backward, industry concentration is not high. The fourth part makes suggestions on the development of China’s architectural books from editing activities, marketing, the audience and the market.
