In recent years, the wireless communication technology, embedded technology and sensor technology have achieved rapid development. For the comfort and safety of the home environment, more and more attention has been paid to this situation, but traditional home security systems due to its single function, difficulte to expand and the low degree of intelligence,is unable to meet the needs of the people. Therefore the development of intelligent home security monitoring system also becomes the urgent need. This article describes a design of a wireless remote security monitoring system, based on embedded system. The system, which is based on ARM11platform and Linux system, uses GPRS and WiFi wireless monitoring methods to increase the transmission channels of monitoring information. Thus it can increase the stability of the system. In order to achieve detect and control the home environment, the head of household can land the embedded WEB server via remote PC or SMS to monitor.The paper first introduces the design of hardware, which includes the S3C2410as the main controller, temperature sensors, smoke sensors, and intrusion detection module as peripheral detection terminal, and GPRS and WiFi as communication module. The master is for processing the detected data of each sensor terminal, and controlling the individual modules. The design of software is the second part, which is how to build the embedded system as software development platform, such as the establishment of cross-compile environment tools, the mount of NFS, the transport of the Bootloader, and the cut of kernel and its transplantation, and so on. Besides the driver as an important part of the software, includes the WiFi driver, Boa Server and SQLite databases, all of them loaded into the kernel statically, as well as dynamic loading driver of each sensor. The application part is about the main monitoring program and the realization of the communication functions of GPRS module.Finally, there is a test about the system function in a laboratory environment. When detected data exceeds a predetermined value, it will start the alarm, and send alarm SMS to the user, user by logging in remote monitoring interface, the indoor environment implementation monitoring, the experimental results show that the system is running relatively stable, and reached a preliminary security system needs.
