| In this thesis, content analysis and quantitative research methods are used to analysis Inner Mongolia’s image in "Southern Weekend", which during the past ten years from2004to2013. Combining Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region’s economic and cultural development between the period of eleventh Five-Year Plan and twelfth Five-Year Plan, the author try to sum up the construction and variation of Inner Mongolia’s media image.By studying and analyzing samples of news, we can conclude features of Inner Mongolia’s media image which presented in the "Southern Weekend":firstly, Inner Mongolia is rich in resources and its economic grows significantly; secondly, there is still a long way to go for ecological protection and construction; thirdly, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region’s social and political environment is stable and harmonious; fourthly, Inner Mongolia has profound grassland culture, ethnic history and folk customs. However there are still some problems existing in the process of news reports, such as the total amount of reports is less, reported theme is in state of imbalance, one-sided regional image and so on. By comparing the research of news coverage and practical developments, the author believes that the Inner Mongolia region should fully exercise the right of communication in the future mass media, change "passive" to "active", and make improvement and innovation in terms of communication channels, transmission mode and dissemination content. So that Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region can present its regional image more comprehensively and completely by means of media interaction. |
