Get the first-hand wild monitoring data can provide data to support research on environment, climate change and natural disasters. Such monitoring method has mainly rely on artificial means for a long time, it is vulnerable to weather and has a poor reliability, while can’t meet the needs of long-term monitoring for large-scale field. The wild parametric automatic monitoring system is based on ZigBee, adopt many kinds of high precision sensor to realize automatic control of the environmental information for the monitored area, allow researchers to obtain the change of environmental characteristic parameter at the first time, in order to take timely and effective measures to cope with such situation, it can greatly reduce the field manual monitoring intensity.This article aims at designing a WSN gateway for wild parametric automatic monitoring system, introduces the basic composition and function of the remote communication gateway. Analysis the current WSN gateway design methods, include using center node connected to the PC via a serial port to form gateway and extending network communication module on center node as a gateway, these methods have disadvantage of high cost and high power consumption by laying cables or overheading special spot room. We design a WSN remote application gateway based on Android platform to solve these problems. The system developed on Eclipse-android environment, has low development cost and the application has good portability, and we can use wireless communication development kit to realize wireless transmission that has little restriction from monitoring environment, while its facilities is simple and can solve the problem of shortage about general gateway storage. In this scenario, use Huawei V880mobile as carrier to complete the communication transfer function, and based on function requirement analysis to improve management functions of the gateway. During the development of gateway communication function, including coordination with the underlying node for Bluetooth communication and connection to monitoring center by Internet via3G network. On this basis, choose UTC time as the benchmark system synchronization signal after analyzing design method about WSN time synchronization. Develop dedicated SQLite database on Android platform for data management and storage. Realize node configuration management and task scheduling system to ensure correctness of the received information and release measurement task. Complete data backup on gateway. On the part of measuring tasks and status upload, using FTP upload method to implement interaction with monitoring center server.Finally, introducing the development environment and system test cases of the gateway. Using serial debugging assistant SSCOM3.2, TCP/UDP Socket debugging tools and Quick Easy FTP Server4.0.0to test module and whole function of the application gateway. Results show that the application gateway can realize required functions like communication, multiple management and data upload.
