Design And Research Of Home Gateway On Android Set Top Box

With the development of IOT (Internet of Things) and information technology, peoplecan remotely control smart home electrical appliances and can be aware of the securitysituation when outside of home by intelligent digital home. We call the internet of thingswhich are consisting by household smart devices home internet of things and the homeinternet of things is controlled by home gateway. However, the technology of homegateway is imperfect and the standards of network are not unified. And the cost andstability and security of home gateway system are other urgent problems to solve.A method that the set-top box upgrades to the home gateway by using hardwareresources is proposed by researching and discussing the status of the home gateway athome and abroad. For the defects of the traditional home gateway, we studied the homegateway by the two following aspects:Firstly, the android system is transplanted to the set-top box hardware and the webserver is embedded in the Android system. Considering the confidentiality, integrity andsecurity of the home internet information for the home gateway security, we use the SSLprotocol and user password authentication to ensure the security of the information. For thedefects of the traditional RSA public key algorithm, we use elliptic curve cryptographyalgorithm to extend the key exchange algorithm and the digital signature algorithm of theSSL handshake protocol. The OpenSSL testing results show that the ECC has a smaller keysize and faster processing speed in the same security level.Furthermore, we use the home gateway connecting ZigBee module to establish andmanage wireless sensor networks. We define a serial data frames format and establish anasynchronous message data channel in the system application framework layer to completethe conversion of ZigBee protocol and TCP/IP protocol. And we establish the gatewaysystem to handle multiple user requests. For the human-computer interaction system, thefamily information application interface is used to monitor the sensor networks and the usermanagement application interface is used to uniformly manage the remote users. Theremote users need to use digital certificates and password to login gateway system and theremote users can monitor the home gateway remotely in the family information pages. The results show that android-based home gateway has strong system scalability, highsecurity and friendly human-computer interaction. The improved proposal for SSL protocolimproved the SSL processing speed and reduced storage space while ensuring the securityand it can be applied to the tense situation of the embedded device resources. Theandroid-based home gateway provides development prospects for the intelligent hometechnology.
