With the rapid development of computer technology and the Internet in recent years, it brought new challenges for the future development of social progress. With the expansion of network scale and increasing needs, the IPv4-based applications expose more and more defects at present; these deficiencies have become a stumbling block to restrict the further development of the Internet. The new Internet IPv6agreement has new features to further development of the Internet to provide space and security. The China Education and Research Network (CERNET2) opened2004, it means that the Chinese colleges began to come to the campus IPv6era. Due to the presence of different structural features and address configuration protocol mechanisms, the vast majority of colleges and universities for the purpose of the agreement is not possible to upgrade the network in one step,so it is a difficulty to apply existing IPv4carry IPv6networking by the current hybrid network, and it has important practical significance how to complete a smooth transition from IPv4to IPv6for the next generation of technology of the construction of the campus network. This paper describes the new features and aspects of the structure of the three types of addresses and IPv6routing protocols, through the introduction of domestic and international issues concerning the transition from IPv4to IPv6-related information, outlining the characteristics of IPv6protocol, components that make up and so on. Comparison and analyze the current mainstream of the three transition technology, combined with the existing network topology BZJ, proposed IPv6upgrade program, and discuss the technical problems IPv4to IPv6transition period, the proposed coexistence strategy, based on IPv6tunneling technology access program conducted network equipment simulation.
