As an important part of China's next generation Internet (CNGI) project, the construction of IPv6 campus network is based on IPv4 campus network. Therefore, the layout, deployment and construction plan of IPv6 campus network should be proposed according to campus network's status and implemented technology. It is introduced that IPv6 protocol at first, including IPv6 new characteristic, the data form of IPv6 and comparison with IPv4, IPv6 address system structure, ICMPv6 protocol, etc. Then the idiographic scheme are introduced in detail against different problems in transition period, including dual protocol stack, the tunnel technology, translating mechanism. The pivotal problem of transition from IPv4 to IPv6 is the intercommunication between them. This paper focuses on four cases of campus network, and analyses their core technologies in detail. In view of how to programming network addresses in campus network, a new scheme is about IPv4 is replaced by IPv6 successfully and choice of device. At last, it adopts dual stack and tunneling technology to construct a simulative campus network. In the lab environment, it can detect the node of local link and its configuration, identify the dual stack node in local link, discover the topology of IPv6 network and the connection between the router. Through the large numbers of test work,it establishes the foundation of IPv6 campus network and promotes the implementation of it.
