With the development of computer software and hardware technology, as well as the application of3S (RS、GPS、GIS)technology in the field of geological exploration, The3d terrain visualization research develops continuously, basing on the remote sensing images and topographic map data analysis&processing. The processing of3d visualization changes the tradition of the geology data and achievement presentation. It has positive vote to understand and popularize the geology data and achievement.This paper studies the remote sensing images processing and3d visualization of the Tibet plateau kekeqili wulanwula lake areas, describes the remote sensing images processing and the digital terrain model generation, designs and implements the3d visualization system of wulanwula lake areas based on OpenGL and the virtual reality technology. The paper discusses the terrain3d realistic display, interaction control,3d image output, the exploration route management and data management in the study area. The system provides a good platform to the exploration geologist in early designed, field work, the characteristics of data analysis,the terrain structure analysis and resources evaluation.The main work is as follows:First, combing with TM, ETM+and ALOS satellite remote sensing image, mainly introduce the optimal remote sensing image processing method through the test analysis.Second, Analyzing the construction algorithm of digital elevation model(DEM) by the topographic map,construct the DEM by the point insertion algorithm, show the experimental verification.The research shows the TIN net made by Delaunay Triangle can show the3d terrain quickly and vividly.Third, Design and implement the3d visualization system of wulanwula lake area. The system has realized the3d realistic terrain scene display, roam, the exploration route management, data management and output functions.
