A Study On The Application Of Quick Bird Image To The City Master Planning

With the rapid developing of urban economy and the society, how to deal with the issues of urban master planning in traditional methods is one of the challenges facing the new round of urban master planning. The thesis discussed the applications of Quick Bird image in urban master planning in a bit to provide an approach to help solve the existing problems in master planning.The thesis began with analysis of the current situation of urban master planning in our country and discussed the needs for remote sensing techniques in the decision making and management of urban master planning in accordance with the existing problems in master planning.The thesis analyzed the feasibilities of Quick Bird image applying in urban master planning; the paper also discussed the adaptability of Quick Bird image to the need of urban master planning decision making and management.Finally, the thesis analyzed the applications of Quick Bird image in decision making and management of urban master planning from three aspects. Firstly, with the steps of image processing, image interpreting, thematic maps making, the paper analyzed the application of Quick Bird image in the investigation of urban master planning; Secondly, based on the need analysis of urban planning for 3D spatial analysis and the feasibilities of Quick Bird image application in the 3D spatial analysis of urban master planning, it analyzed the application of Quick Bird image in the reasoning of current alternatives in urban master planning from the perspectives of topographic analysis, multi-alternative comparison, 3D visualized analysis; Thirdly, with the introduction of theory of land-use remote sensing dynamic monitoring, the paper analyzed the application of Quick Bird image in the land-use dynamic monitoring and management in the master planning implement.Based on the above, the thesis suggested that the application of Quick Bird image in urban master planning can greatly reduce the work-load and time consumed in the investigation of urban master planning and help enhance the accuracy of the survey so as to reduce cost and enhance efficiency and shorten the time-span of the plan compiling process. The application of Quick Bird image in the decision making and management of urban master planning can provide us with a quantitative approach for urban master planning, it can help us enhance our working efficiency and quality, satisfy the expectations of various social sectors for urban master planning under the background of the rapid economicdevelopment.
