Antenna is widely used in wireless communication system, is mainly used for wireless electromagnetic wave radiation and reception. Plane antenna is one of the antenna, it has many advantages, such as, low profile, simple structure, small volume, light weight, simple production, etc. Because many advantages of planar antenna planar antenna is widely used in modern mobile communications and research. Planar antenna with the development of modern wireless communication technology, its main research direction is toward the multiband direction. Full text introduced the development process of plane multiband antenna, in theory and multiband planar antenna technology on the basis of the corresponding for WLAN/WiMAX/ITu/frequencies of the antenna design. Thesis there are two kinds of antenna design, one is four band antennas, one kind is to cover more frequency of broadband antenna, the introduction to the two antennas are as follows:The first is a etching the metal ground plate on spiral seam structure and in medium plate loading parasitic metal strip behind the four frequency band antenna, the antenna is used the frequency of, including wireless local area WLAN (2.4GHz to2.4GHz,5.15GHz to5.15GHz,5.725GHz to5.725GHz), microwave access WIMAX (3.3GHz to3.3GHz) and the international telecommunication union ITu frequency band (8.025GHz to8.025GHz). The size of the antenna is40×30×1.0mm3. Antenna can work in different resonant point in different working mode, etc, can be applied to MIMO antenna. The antenna has been successful by simulation, the design and test, the results showed that the antenna has good matching, the stability of the gain and omnidirectional radiation pattern.The second is using coplanar waveguide feed can meet including wireless local area network (WLAN) spectrum of the WLAN and microwave access broadband antenna. The broadband antenna with thickness of0.03mm copper etching in the dielectric constant of4.6FR4dielectric substrate, the size of the medium FR4substrate is40X40×1.0mm3. Design of broadband antenna is on the back of the ordinary plane coplanar waveguide antenna loading the four square patch, the antenna can work at the same time in WLAN (2.4GHz to2.485GHz and5.15GHz to5.15GHz and5.75GHz to5.75GHz) and WiMAX band (3.3GHz to3.3GHz)). The experimental results proved that the well antenna has good radiation mode, can be applied to wireless local area network (WLAN) and microwave access network.
