It is a shared library collaboration learning and research environment, which is a new type of library service model, providing a new opportunity for the library innovative service. As a kind of professional library, the hospital library is the main place of medical information storage and transmission, providing information service and knowledge service for medical workers. Its level of development and service quality reflects knowledge background and culture of the hospital, and has a great influence on academic development of the hospital. Rejuvenating the hospital through science and technology is the only way for the development of the hospital. In the era of big data, hospital libraries are keeping up with the pace of development and exploring the road of transformation and innovation.First of all, comprehensive reviews about domestic and foreign practice progress and theory research status of the Information Commons are mentioned in this article. The Information Commons has gradually been carried out in the library of United States and the rest of the world. The size of its building and running effect is very ideal. Its information service environment becomes popular with users. The success of the practice makes the theory research gradually mature and systematic. Absorbing foreign literature research and localizing the achievement changes, the research of IC in domestic libraries is still in its infancy. Currently, the concept, characteristics, structure and function of IC has a relatively clear understanding, but the research of its building is still relatively weak.Second, this article summarizes the background, concept, structure, function and meaning of the Information Commons. There is no unified definition about the concept of IC. Its essence is to use new technology integration of library resources to provide users with learning, cooperation, communication, sharing of real and virtual space. Through spatial information sharing and resource sharing of one-stop services, it help users more easily gain and use information to improve information literacy of users and to realize the value of information resources.This article selects the library of the Tumor Hospital of Zhejiang province as an example of case analysis. The hospital is a clinical, teaching and research in the integration of the tumor specialized subject third-grade class-A hospital, which attaches great importance to the construction of information resources. And it is the linked units of hospital library committee in Zhejiang province. So the development of the library and its service mode innovation is in line with the overall development goal and trend of this hospital. Through literature research, field survey, Internet survey, interview and questionnaire survey, we have basic understanding about general situation and status quo of the Tumor Hospital of Zhejiang Province’s library. We have essential understanding to the way of information communication and information resources access and the demand of information service content of medical staff. On the basis of the present situation and the demand, we can outline the necessity and feasibility of constructing the Information Commons in this hospital library.After that, according to the three hierarchical model of Ren Shuhuai, this article discusses the construction of the Information Commons in the Tumor Hospital of Zhejiang Province’s library, containing the real space, the virtual space and the service support system. And basing on this scheme, we design a service quality evaluation system about user satisfaction. This system sets up the service quality evaluation indexes firstly, and then makes users grade these indexes, obtains the quantitative evaluation result to measure user satisfaction, and then formulates the corresponding service improvement strategy based on the evaluation results. The key is to improve the services indexes of heavy weight and low user satisfaction. Setting up the evaluation system is for the purpose of evaluating the service quality to further improve service. Finally, there are many problems in the construction process of the Information Commons, containing collaboration, staff, public relations, funds, technology. And we put forward suggestion to solve these problems.At the end of this article, the main research work and deficiencies are summarized, and the development of the Information Commons in the hospital library in the future is discussed. With the continuous development and innovation of information technology, the service mode of the Information Commons is a good choice for transformation, comparing with the waning traditional service mode in the hospital library. It expands the service function and service space of the hospital library. The development of its future should focus on proceeding from reality, combining each hospital’s own key discipline construction and the characteristics of clinical research for planning. Only in this way, the hospital library can provide unlimited service in the limited information space. |
