The technology of the video capture and image processing, Whether in the field ofmonitoring or in the field of scientific research monitors have a very wide range of application.The technology of the traditional video capture use DSP as a whole acquisition systemcontroller. However, DSP can’t make use of a way of the parallel processing to handle thedata, resulting in a lower sampling efficiency. In recent years, in order to meet the diverseapplication needs of people, as well as to improve the image quality, real-time requirement. Ahigh-speed, high-precision video capture system needs to be developed.Based on the fast processing speed of FPGA, as well as the richly internal logicresources and many other advantages, multi-functional image acquisition system is designed.The system is divided into a video capture module, video storage module, video transmissionmodule, video display module in the design process, and focus on the study of video capturemodule and video transmission module.In the Acquisition module, we use TI company’sTVP5150video decoder chip to capture the analog video signal from the CCD image sensor,and then by use of the I2C bus to configure the TVP5150video decoder chip, converting ananalog signal into a digital signal. At the same time, in order to meet the needs of manyelectronic devices digital output interface, the system use the design of digital video interfacebased on the Camera Link interface, it can meet the requirements in most cases. We use twopieces of SRAM, and with the SRAM’s reading and writing control timing to complete thevideo signal cache.The PCI interface and the RS422interface are designed to be used for interactiveinformation. In order to reduce design costs and shorten the development cycle, we use theU.S. PLX’s PCI bus protocol PCI9054as the PCI interface. According to the EEPROM toconfigure its register, and finally achieving a high-speed, accurate data transmission.RS422bus adopted high-speed differential data bus mode, it can meet the demand of the low speed inimage acquisition applications. Finally, the data transmitted to the computer through bus interface for display.After the completion of the system design, by use of the Modelsim simulation softwareand oscilloscope,debugging and simulating some modules of the system and turn out that weimplement of the function of the expected complete finally, and it also demonstrated thefeasibility of the system. A variety of input and output interface mode of the system hashigh-speed data transfer rates, provides a great convenience for industrial applications as wellas scientific research, and it has a great significance in the field of embedded imageacquisition and processing.
