In recent years, as the improvement of data warehousing technology,the values that brings to companies are increasingly greater. These years, the use of mobile, automobile,smart wearable devices and other positioning devices makes large amount of spatial data imported to data warehouse,. Spatial data warehouse that consisting geography data is drawing people’s attention, and the research of the spatial data warehouse is becoming a popular trend. The paper discusses the features of spatial data warehouse and the method of modeling spatial data warehouse.Firstly, the paper introduces the theory, features and the key points of designing the data warehouse including the concept and features of data cube, dimensions, measures and the concept of OLAP. Secondly the paper introduces the research and development status of spatial data warehouse, analyses the differences between spatial data themes and traditional data warehouse. Based on the particularity of the spatial data, the author comes up with a model named Multi-granularity Spatial Data warehouse (MuSD), and makes formal definitions to some concepts and operators about the model.Finally the paper discusses the SOA-based spatial data warehouse application integration framework, And using MuSD model proposed by the author, the author builds a model for the ’urban crime hot spots analysis’ project,then the author publishes GP service for the model using ArcGIS tools and finally achieves the goal of displaying the crime hotspots and transfer cases of them.
