The integration of simulation and control experimental system combines the simulation process and experiment process of controller’s designing. The modeling and simulation of control system are executed on the platform of MATLAB/Simulink, and then the files that can be implemented in hardware are exported directly to complete the experimental verification. At the same time, the application software on PC can monitor the response characteristics of the controlled object with different controlling parameters.This thesis has designed a simulation and control experimental system based on FPGA platform. Using the DSP Builder toolbox achieves the docking of the hardware system and MATLAB/Simulink. The controller’s designing and simulation are completed in MATLAB/Simulink with the DSP Builder modules, and then the compiler tool in DSP Builder can export the controller with HDL files, which can be used in FPGA designing directly for hardware implementation. Compared with traditional experimental system, this system has improved data processing ability to complete some complex control algorithms. The docking with MATLAB/Simulink simplifies the controller designing and helps researchers to design controller more flexibly and efficiently.This thesis’s main work includes:the designing of hardware, data transmission scheme based on USB2.0specification, the application software on PC, PID controller and fuzzy self-tuning PID controller with DSP Builder. Finally, this thesis gives the experiment results of the two controllers for the DC motor speed control system. It approves that this experimental system can provide technical supports and a real experimental environment for researchers to study and research control theories. This system has completed the design requirements.
