Study On Standardization Proiect Planning Of Services Robots

In the coming20to50years, one can expect that Home Service Robot (HSR) will, just like the personal computer, intervene people’s day to day life as first aid and friends, therefore making people’s life significantly changed. The standards will play a very important role for the sustainable development of Home Service Robot industry. There are many kinds of Home Service Robots. Different technology and product at difference development stage will have different needs of standards. How to deal with these demands in terms of standards development? The answer is you have to have a well-established methodology to evaluate the plan and proposals. Thus standards can be developed in a planned and organized manner. This thesis is an attempt to apply the project management theory and methodology in the day to day Robot’s standards development. The thesis established a set of indicators and evaluation model which are used for evaluating the standards development plan and proposal. In the end, recommendations were to enhance the standards management with the proposed project management theory and methodology.Against the characteristics of the standards development, the thesis focused on the following issues:First, there are many types and a great number of standardization projects related to HSR. Thus there are usually needs to evaluate those projects. The programme management theory can be applied. In this thesis scope management and organization management of HSR standardization programme were discussed. Based on the programme management theories and the characteristics of standardization of HSR and HSR standardization situation in the Country, preliminary plan of HSR standardization programming was carried out in terms of programme scoping and the project prioritizing.Second, given the constraint of limited resources, it is important to make it clear on what factors or aspects need to be taken in to account and what information need to be referenced in the evaluation process of standards development proposal. The author believes the following factors or aspects should be on top of the list to be considered in this regard. They are policy, market, technology, resources, environment, and benefit. In each factor, there are some sub-factors. In this thesis, twenty sub-factors were identified.Third, using the factors identified, the author selected Analytic hierarchy process (AHP), based on analysis and comparison of several methodologies, to evaluate the proposed projects. The detailed introduction and application of the AHP was applied. Cases were used in the thesis to elaborate the application of the methodology, e.g. using AHP to determine the weight of each factor, to indicator at the same level and to indicator at upper level, determining the weight (importance) of each factor with actual proposed project, and then finally using all these data to evaluate the overall importance of the proposed project following the method provided by AHP.Finally, key policies were recommended to enhance the standards development management.
