With the incessant development of the programmable logic device, Filed Programmable Gate array is more widely used in image processing. The subject takes FPGA as core processor to realize real-time video image magnification, which has successfully used in the detonating tube online detector.In order to realize real-time video image magnification, the thesis is orientated to make study on the algorithms of the video image interpolation firstly, including the polynomial-based interpolation and the edge-directed interpolation. this paper has carried out simulation on the Polynomial-based interpolation with MATLAB. Combined with the application background and the complexity of the algorithms realized on FPGA as well as the quality of the enlarged video image synthetically, Bilinear interpolation has been selected as the algorithms to realize video image magnification. Secondly, According to the general process of image processing, the overall framework of the system is built, on the basis of which, Altium Designer has been used to draw circuit schematic and design PCB. It includes the selection and installation of CCD camera, the circuit design of video decoding chip TVP5150, FPGA core processor design, chip microcontroller design, the circuit design of external memory SRAM and terminal display TFT-LCD as well. Then, the subject has used Verilog hardware description language to divide each module into video data acquisition mudule, cache module, line interpolation module, inter-row interpolation and display module specifically, which are made the corresponding function simulaiton with Quartus’ software. Finally, the result of the whole system’s debugging and running has been given,which has reached the design requirements of this subject.
