The issue aims at the design and implement of WinCE based vehicle embedded system integrated of entertainment subsystems, communications, GPS navigation and other applications.The main part includes the development of the device driver for the specific hardware platform. Meanwhile, three multi-media applications are designed and realized under the system platform, including the audio-video player based on the silverlight for windows embedded technology, and the VideoIn application which supports the display of the external analog video signals.The main processor is SH7724, which is designed by Renesas Corporation aiming at the applications such as the navigation system or other multi media applications. Combined with peripheral circuits, the hardware platform in vehicle system is made up. According to the characteristics of the vehicle system and the functional requires, the embedded operations system is selected as the software platform. The main discussion of the issue includes the following three aspects:1) Study of the WinCE operating system, especially the WinCE system architecture and the device driver model, which offers the system software design a academic support. Meanwhile, custom the WinCE system core based on the functional demand of the vehicle system, compile and download the image of the WinCE system core.2) Research and transplant the BOOTLOADER and device driver under WinCE system. Have a deep study on the booting flow of WinCE, finish the transplanting of BOOTEOADER in the vehicle platform, including the MONITOR module and EBOOT module, and finally guide the WinCE OS to launch. Design and realize the multi-device driver modules according to the characteristics of the device hardware and the demand of vehicle system, including the NOR FLASH memory device, the touch panel, the LCD display controller and the audio device. In the system, the LCD is controlled by the ASIC chip integrated the VVP for solving the display problem when the LCD is directly exposed in the sunshine, thus providing a vivid display. Meanwhile the touch controller is included for the size and cost save of the whole system.3) Design and realization of the applications. Using the features of the NOR FLASH device, design two solutions to figure out the UUID storing for the hardware device identification. While the tradition MFC technology for developing the user interface software needs a long develop period and the user interface may not seem good, a audio-video player is implemented based on a new UI development framework for embedded devices—Silverlight for Windows Embedded. In order to enrich the vehicle entertainments, the VideoIn application is designed and realized in which the LCD terminal can display the DVD player’s output.The issue has completely realized the booting and launching of WinCE OS, and the device drivers of the vehicle system, including NOR FLASH device, the touch panel, the LCD controller and the audio device. The vehicle system runs stably on the hardware platform, and the peripheral devices operate correctly. The applications of SWE player and VideIn both work correctly, which achieve the original goals.
